About
Hi!
We’re the Flint Red Hot Writers, hailing from all parts of Genesee County (Michigan), and from some parts of other counties surrounding.
We started out in the National Novel Writing Month forum, and our 2008 ML (that’s me, Rachael) decided we needed our own website and forum, so that we can get more in-depth with helping each other write, edit, and strategize; and so that we have a place to hang out.
What’s National Novel Writing Month anyway?
Fifty thousand words in thirty days!
Every November, we gather up all our caffeine, our stashes of chocolate and snacks, and hunch over our keyboards and notepads and furiously write and write and write, until we have completed a novel-length work in just one month. Crazy, yes – but FUN! And challenging!
As a writer who has been in the last four Nanos and actually won one of them, I can tell you that it’s a rollercoaster of a month, but I wouldn’t miss it for anything.
We have write-ins during the month, stickers to put all over your face or your laptop or your precious novel. We have a kickoff party and a Thank-God-It’s-Over party. During the rest of the year, we still write together, and we even have a small-but-growing writing group that meets twice a month to critique and write.
If you haven’t signed up yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Go right now!

I am new to the Flint area and a NaNoWriMo 1st time participant/winner in 2008.
I won, but my novel isn’t finished … yet. I am glad to have found this place…
